FC Boranders has welcomed a new volunteer equipment coordinator, adding another dependable pair of hands to the team that keeps football running smoothly each week.

A practical role with a big impact

The equipment coordinator looks after the everyday details that players may not always notice: checking footballs, organising bibs and cones, preparing training bags and making sure shared materials return to the right place. Good organisation means coaches can start sessions on time and every squad has what it needs.

Our new volunteer already knows the value of a tidy storeroom and a clear routine. Working closely with coaches and team helpers, the role will also help us spot worn or missing items early and use club equipment responsibly.

Volunteers make the difference

Community football depends on people who are willing to contribute in all kinds of ways. Some lead sessions or referee matches; others prepare the ground, welcome visitors or keep the clubhouse running. Each task supports the same goal: giving members a safe, enjoyable place to play.

The players began the campaign with a simple focus: learn together and make every session count. Coaches have seen clear progress in first touch, movement off the ball and the confidence to make decisions under pressure. Just as importantly, the group has learned to communicate, encourage one another and respond positively when a match becomes difficult.

Recent performances have brought those lessons together. Players have stayed composed, shared responsibility across the pitch and celebrated each other’s contributions. The improvement is visible not only in results, but also in the way the squad prepares, listens and represents FC Boranders.

This step forward belongs to the entire youth setup. Thank you to the coaches who plan thoughtful sessions, the families who make training and matchdays possible, and the volunteers who prepare equipment and pitches each week.

The next goal is simple: keep enjoying the game and keep learning. There is plenty still to discover, but the squad can be proud of the habits it has built and the supportive culture it brings to every session.

The gates will soon open for another FC Boranders home fixture, and players, families, neighbours and first-time visitors are all invited to share the afternoon with us.

Come early and enjoy the club

A home match is about more than the ninety minutes. The clubhouse will be ready before kick-off, volunteers will be on hand to welcome visitors and the team will complete its warm-up on the main pitch. Arriving early is the best way to find a comfortable place along the rail and enjoy the build-up.

Supporters are encouraged to travel together where possible and to keep entrances clear for players and officials. Children are very welcome when accompanied by an adult, and we ask everyone to respect the pitch boundary and the instructions of matchday volunteers.

The visitors made the brighter start and asked difficult questions in the opening exchanges. Boranders stayed compact, worked for one another and gradually began to find space through midfield. The equaliser came from a well-timed move down the flank, finished calmly after a low ball across the area.

After the interval, the home side played with greater purpose. The back line stepped forward together, the midfield kept possession under pressure and the wide players continued to stretch the game.
